Entrepreneurship and Innovation

Pre-requisite : MGTE 22072 Co-requisite : None

On completion of this course, the student should be able to:

  • Identify and explain the generic characteristics of techno-entrepreneurs.
  • Explain the process of making an entrepreneur.
  • Evaluate a given business proposal.
  • Cultivate assertive and inner locus skills.
  • Discuss the relationship between technology and innovation.
  • Explain the difference between idea generation and idea implementation.
  • Evaluate different methods of commercialization of inventions.

Entrepreneurs, businessmen, and the self-employed, “Entrepreneur” ways of looking at entrepreneur, Role of entrepreneurs in national development, training of entrepreneurs, essential characteristics of techno-entrepreneurs, the business proposal and assessing criteria, Making a business proposal, Technology and innovation; invention, commercialization and diffusion, technology push and market pull; business models for innovation.

Lectures, interactive classroom sessions and case analysis.

End-of- Semester examination and case study presentations.
